error message after i change site root

Post by cs071372 » Fri Aug 29, 2014 10:43 am

Hi,
i had my website installed in mysite.com/joomla and i wanted to move it to the web root. Thus, i moved all the files from the /joomla folder to the /httpdocs folder and i removed the reference to the /joomla sub folder from the $log_path and the $tmp_path code. When i try to go to mysite.com i get this error:
Error displaying the error page: JERROR_COULD_NOT_FIND_TEMPLATE: JERROR_COULD_NOT_FIND_TEMPLATE

I cannot go to my backend either.

any ideas ?

thanks in advance!

It appears not all the files and folders were moved. The message shown indicates that the language file cannot be found and since it references the template, maybe those files were not moved either.

If you have not yet deleted the source directory, run the move command again.

Thanks for the reply.
1) There is nothing in the /joomla folder, is empty, as i moved everything earlier
2)What i did is to move whatever was in the /joomla folder back to /httpdocs. Did i have to move it even more back to go to the root_directory? I hope you understand what i mean. What do you think?

thanks

Do not go higher than httpdocs as that will be your domain root. You can try to upload the language directory and if the message is legible, you will know for sure that files did not completely transfer. At that point you should then upload your template files and any thing else that is missing.

If 2.5.7 is what your site had then yes, use that package. You don't need the installation folder. The files will just overwrite and put in place any that is missing. Once you have the site working correctly, you should update to the latest 2.5.24 or even 3.3.3

My site was in Joomla 3.3.1, so i moved the files again via the FTP and now everything seems to be working good. Thanks a lot!
There is just one more issue, in the plesk panel, in the Joomla application which has been installed i get this warning message:
Warning: The app was not configured: Non-zero exit status returned by script. Output stream: 'PHP Warning: require_once(/var/www/vhosts/opersis.gr/httpdocs/joomla/cli/install_package_cli.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/local/psa/var/apspackages/apscatalogDeIalR.zipb8d7d75f-ef41-29/cache/scripts/custom.php on line 121 PHP Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required '/var/www/vhosts/opersis.gr/httpdocs/joomla/cli/install_package_cli.php' (include_path='.') in /usr/local/psa/var/apspackages/apscatalogDeIalR.zipb8d7d75f-ef41-29/cache/scripts/custom.php on line 121 '. is that something to worry about?

thanks

That must be the plesk application installer complaining that it cannot find the joomla package it installed. Now that you have moved the files to the root, that message is harmless and maybe once you delete the original folder, it will go away. If not, ask the host to clear the message.
