Joomla 3.10.11 - Adding icelandic Translation

I am developing a website for customers that needs to be in English & Icelandic but when I tried to add the Icelandic language surprise surprise, it was not available in the Languages Manager.

I came across this:

And also this:

And I wanted to know if the steps outlined in the last forum post:
viewtopic.php?f=617&t=698234

Would work in Joomla 3.x

Have you see the existing translation project https://crowdin.com/project/joomla-cms/is? It's not completed but maybe you could contribute and eventually have it released.

How can I download the language pack as is please?

Click the button next to "Translate All" button.

I downloaded it and FTP'd the files over but the icelandic does not appear in languages.

Obviously I am missing something.

Any help appreciated.

Extensions uploaded over FTP need to be "discovered" using extension manager. Then they can be installed. Languages downloaded from Crowdin should be installable. This specific language pack has translated some strings in installation XML files which should not have been translated. If you fix these, it should install properly.

I have added this to the website but for some weird reason the date picker does not work.

I don't know which file to look at to check this, can anyone help?
