Georgian translation

Is anybody or any group translating Georgian language pack for Joomla 3.x ? Can I make copy of en-ENG ,change all names to ka-GE and just translate front end (take most scripts from Joomla 1.6 Georgian language pack already made by group with Coordinator: Manana Gedevanishvili) ? Help will much appreciated.

You can find the 1.6 language pack and start from there:
