Language Prefix for Maltese Language

I have a multilanguage site and I found any language but maltese in the image prefix for joomla

I found even CATALAN (spoken by few people in the catalan region of spain) but there is not a Maltese language mt-MT? Really? Malta is a country! :laugh:

How do I add it or can the joomla community add the maltese language? Thank you

As per ISO 639-1 the language code for Maltese is mt.
As per ISO 3166 the country code for the Republic of Malta is MT.

So, the language code for the language Maltese would be mt-MT.

The reason you are not finding anything for the language Maltese is that no one has volunteered to do the translation of core Joomla! language strings to that language.

Be informed that all the translators and translation coordinators of Joomla! are volunteers just like you and me.

Let us know if you are interested in volunteering to prepare the Maltese language pack.
