Making a Language Pack for Joomla

Post by Muge D » Mon Nov 30, 2015 7:06 pm

We are working on making a language pack for joomla. However there are some missing languages and we need your guidance to succeed in creating a language pack for each missing language.
The missing languages are Zulu, Nepali, Latin, and Shona.

Thanks for your cooperation in advance.

Hi,

You can start by look at the links and info available here: http://community.joomla.org/translation ... tions.html

Btw! If you want to test out a online tool you can request the languages at https://crowdin.com/project/joomla-cms (but still you should read all info available through previous link to fully understand everything).

We have already started following the steps under the heading Making a Language Pack for Joomla 3.x and installed localise 4.0.14-dev in Joomla. Then we started translating along with localise 4.0.14-dev. While we were following the steps we saw the note below about creating a missing language so we wanted to make sure that we are on the right direction. Shall we carry on or not? If yes how are we going to create a language pack and get it accreditted by you so that we can share it with other people? If not what would you recommend?

Note: TinyMCE files are no more needed for 3.2. They are now shipped with core. If your language is missing, please contact the Translation Team coordination.

@Muge D
To get accreditation for a language pack, please contact Mig http://forum.joomla.org/memberlist.php? ... e&u=224484
He will help you for all the necessary steps, including TinyMce.

With com_localise, you can indeed create easily a full working full pack. At this point, it would be clever to work on a staging instance of Joomla (future 3.5.0) which will be released in the weeks to come.
