Joom!Fish 1.8 stable released

Post by akede » Mon Oct 22, 2007 11:24 am

Hi all,

First of all many thanks to all the users (more than 10k downloaded the RC), contributors and of course developers within the team!

We are happy to announce the stable release of Joom!Fish 1.8 today. This release covers a little milestone for this project as we have now integrated a lot of additional features and support for various enhancements within the project.

One of the last minute additions is a suggestion from one of the SEF extension developers who told us that the cookie is causing him problems - now it is up to you and you can switch off the cookie totally and replace the language determination with the functionality of your SEF extension of choice.

You can download the stable release at: http://www.joomfish.net/downloads/ and on this site you also find additional information related to upgrading or various topics related to multilingual sites.

Within the official Joom!Fish website we also implemented a new forum which should allow for better community support and more easy structuring of the forum than the one used on J!Code.

Thanks again for all of your feedback, ideas and reports

Alex -- now taking a short break and then looking intensively on Joom!Fish 2.0 ;-)

Hi Leonardo,

It looks like this is an issue with EasyPHP you are using. We had a thread about that in the joomfish forum and it turned out that it was related to this AMP package. With XAMP everything worked.

I don't exactly understand why this is the way it is sorry.

Hi,

I installed Joom!Fish 1.8 and Traditional Chinese language package swiftly, following with menu translation.  I also add one content in Traditional Chinese.  Both menu translation and Traditional Chinese content was displayed properly.  However, I found the Traditional Chinese part of the page on tab was displayed scrambled, which left me in a dilemma whether I should switch back to full English menu or not.

Any tip or tricks to avoid this confusion?

Thanks a lot for the help.
Sabrina

Just a small question:
Where should I install it: Components/ Modules/Mambots.

Best is get Joom!Fish 2.0 and just install it on the extension manager in Joomla 1.5.

Other than that . it is a component.
