The only thing I could come up with that I like is Enso, so something on that theme like Enso, Enso CMS, Enso Server, Enso Framework etc.

Enso is the Japanese word for circle.  A circle painted in a single brushstroke is a Zen symbol of the true nature of existence and enlightenment.

Enso is a central theme of Zen art. It represents infinity, simplicity, strength.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enso
http://www.byzant.com/symbols/enso.asp
Some artists draw Enso with an opening in the circle, while others complete the circle. For the former, the opening symbolizes that the Enso is not separate, but is part of something greater.
That said, our enso would definatly be panted with an opening :)

I like this idea. ensoserver.com is open as well as ensocms.com. The trademark is open in the US.

MYCELIUM, it's the underground network from which funghi grow. (or, like the dictionary says: a network of fine white filaments (hyphae) constituting the vegetative part of a fungus.) It's a good metaphore for a community & network  based application.
Mycelium.org is registered by me and I'm happy to donate it.

My 2c. Maybe It need to choose or free- or hope-like name or some Africa words... Firsts you can find, second - i've found for you ;) N.B. It need to sound simple for every language... Here are:

UNWABA CMS (free all main domains)

In Zulu tradition, a mythical chameleon that was send by the sky-god to tell humanity they had eternal life. Immortal.
Can use a chameleon as logo.

MBOMBA CMS (free all main domains) - like a m*mbo but not.

The creator god and ancestral deity of the Mongo people of northern Zaire. He is master of life and death. The sun, the moon and mankind are his children. He is also known as Nzakomba.

I will search something interesting also...

Hanasu (written in Japanese: 放す).

It means:
"To separate"
"To release"
"To set free"

I can't think of anything better than that.  Oh, and you get to use a single kanji character as a symbol if you want:

Another suggestion: Iridium

OK, there is one website i was planning to promote and use as portfolio site, but never actually made it happen. I use it mainly because of email. I can surrender it to the cause. So suggestion would be

WSPOINT CMS http://www.wspoint.com

There is certain filosophy you can build on that name. Originally i was planning to describe it as WEBSITE POINT, Something like the point where websites are born or mambo jambo like that. Anyways, now it is maybe true.

Another good thing> Results 1 - 10 of about 91 for wspoint from google IT IS NEW WORD, ONLY 91 TIMES MENTIONED IN GOOGLE

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=wspoint

Keywords for some branding guru to work on would be

WEBSITE
WEB
START
POINT
BEGINNING
NEW START
CENTER
TOGETHER IN ONE POINT
POINT OF VIEW

OK, I am nut's I suppose, but I had to try  ???  :)

Please go back the first Post...

The name needs to fill all that Masterchief suggests, but also should be reminicent of Mambo so that we can take the community with us.. If the name changes too much we will loose the heritige of Mambo..

So, how about "Tambo" "Mambe" "Mamba" (think of all the snake imagery!) or "Fambo".

Dikud,

I am curious where you are doing your research on the African words. I was helping name another company a few years ago and we were interested in finding an African word with an interesting sound and meaning. We were not very successful in our research.
What is your source?

BTW, I like your ideas.

Yes, but ... there is a rock band from Canada with that name.

Also, Moxie is a regional soft drink in the Northeast United States. (Don't ask me why I know that.)

What about "FlowerFox" ?

Still a connection to the original logo of 'TCMSFKAM'. And Fox is like Firefox; came out of nowhere and stood up against the 'worlddominator' (IE).

And Google finds only one person who's using it as username....

Or what about:

Djambo
Djumbo
Jumbo

mmm.... :-\

Salsa it's it!

Mambo (dance and music and something else named like this ...) WAS very popular before ...

For now Salsa is on top and trendy (dance, music, else ...) ...

Moreover Salsa is dicrectly and definitely post-Mambo (dance, music, whatever ...).

Salsa (as word and name) is enough different then Mambo, but enough and still close ...

Salsa is a kind of very FREE and easy music, dance ... software ...

Salsa is very popular in the world (thanks to e.g. Buena Vista Social Club and its performers).

Vote for Salsa !

It's gotta be...

Rambo

Sounds a lot like Mambo and he was this great hero we all loved that helped those nice people of Al Quida to fight those evil Russians in Afghanistan.

Or is that too political? Perhaps we better go for...

Tambo
Wambo
Zambo

Ah, yes, I think it should be Zambo. I'll start working on the logo immediately...
