Re: LOGO: The Jbird
I like the JBird. Its name alone works when using the letter J instead of Jay, playing with Joomla's initial. It is clean, it is bright. Love the form, it is smooth and simple. I love the color, it is pure and clean.
I agree with someone else that the TM dot needs to be relocated... maybe the bird could be facing the opposite way insteadl?
This is in my top 5.

The TM could be relocated, but if the bird faced another way it wouldn't be a Jbird.

Re: LOGO: The Jbird
You can omit the TM if the purpose of using it will be favicons or small images, for larger images ie. frontpage, posters, tshirt, promotional stuff etc. i think it should stay the same

My first comment to say "Nice Logo!!", but..
- Maybe the tipo (font) would be better
- What if makes the bird in angle like flying and seeing the sky?

Hi,
Very Cool design and very professional.
But unfortunately it reminds me too much off Captain Birds Eye Logo http://www.birdseye.co.uk/kids/

I agree... that way everything you make looks like "something"...rjs wrote: It's not even close.
There are so many logo's on the world that most things wil have an "almost twin".
Edit: Birds Eye is called Iglo in The Netherlands.

OK, I just keep coming back to this one, every time someone replies to bring it to the top of the threads... this has got to be my fave of them all so far.

Jbird is my favorite so far. Great work.

Maybe its my adult hatred of Brids Eye Fish Fingers and their annoying TV advertisements.
It is still a great design

Re: LOGO: The Jbird
Hmmm... put it in the top five... looking at the reactions, it deserves it. It's definately better than my own submission... but probably not my favorite. I can't put my finger on it... but I'll try anyway: I suppose it looks too much like a men's lavatory though I'd hate to think about what the eye would be then...
But that might just be my imagination... Just wanted to give my opinion. If everybody else likes it, I can surely live with it!

Almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea

Re: LOGO: The Jbird
hahaha. I still cannot remember where I have seen something similar b4... but thats not an Issue... I think this should definatly be in the Top 5......
PS........... But it does remind me of the Uniting Chruch Logo ! ( But only as a reference as its nowhere near the same ! )
Actual Uniting Church Logo :

Why the JBird Reminds me of it :

Re: LOGO: The Jbird
The idea of a bird signifying freedom etc is pretty good.
However, this design looks kinda childish, maybe a better bird, if we are going down that path.
personally would prefer a no flora-fauna icon type logo that will connect with the concept correctly

yes The idea of a bird signifying freedom etc is pretty good as you post above AND in the contest rule I think is a winner idea. The graphique can be "changed" by "professionists" as per contest rule, as we know. But the idea is ok!
