On the oder hand, whether we want it or not, in the user's mind...
Butterfly = Microbluff, I mean $icrosoft 
Flower = $ambo (in the CMS world) 
So, IMHO, none of the symbols is appropriate for the imagery of Joomla.

I've always view butterfiles as bi-sexual symbolizing freedom and tranquility no matter your age, sex, religious preference or nationality!
