Looks a bit familiar... I think this one is a bit more sophisticated though...

No 'birds eye'/'iglo' tails here, elegant design very smooth

Then we probably do agree on this web2xs, though you probably go for black and I for red?

Good job... I think you may have misintrepreted the other comments. I think the non-eye was fine and it will not scale with it.

Nice, but the Jbird is more of a unique identity.

definitely digging this... I like the logo, but not so sure w/ the font. and I think you might have an edge over the j bird just because this bird has a stronger presence (Joomla! leading the way) whereas the j bird seems like its falling/gliding.

The J Bird is very good but you always have to be careful with logos that have direction. Since the logo will typically appear in the upper left quadrant you want the direction to be into the page. For example my ugly mug to the left is tilted into the page promoting the feeling that I am communicating the words to the right. Imagine if I reversed the photo it would be like I am turning my back to you, or in the case of a bird, fly off the page.

This is important and severfire has got it right. Granted not as stylistic as the JBird which does give it a unique edge. However with both the eye is not important.
