Get Recent Post from SMF and display in Joomla site without bridge

Post by vhv_alex » Thu Oct 12, 2006 12:48 am

I want to add to my Joomla site somethings like this :  Latest News from forum ( while news are "Recent Posts", received from my SMF )

My site have SMF and Joomla working together but not have a bridge or something like that.

Is it possible to do that ( without install bridge )

Thank you in advance  :)

Try SSI:

Code: Select all

<?php require("/path/to/SSI.php"); ?>

<?php ssi_recentTopics(); ?>

I test this solution with the php module, it works fine but the output its very large, a table with forum, post, date and author. Is it possible to make onli a simple list like "topic title by, user"?

Thanks

You're correct - if they are in separate domains, that is the way you have to go.  Otherwise, you'd be open to XSS hacks....
