I've just installed SMF 1.1b3 on Mosres's new domain Jomres (shh, don't tell anybody yet, still setting up  ;) ), so this will come in very handy, thanks for that.

Anything I need to know before I dive in feet first without RTFM-ing?

If you install Mambo and SMF in different databases, make sure that each database user has access to the other database.

SMF forum is very active just make sure you search before you post they are pretty anal about that

well that didn't work, somehow the bridge logs me in to the forums but not to joomla!...
