Post by kkshansid » Tue Jan 17, 2012 5:14 pm

i have installed hindi language joomla on my localhost to work on hindi website recently but i am little confused whether people can directly browse our website content without any font download or they have to download some hindi language font to browse contents of our websites.

I don't think that one has to download the Hindi font. As the encoding is UTF-8, it should take care of that.

On a different note, I have not installed Hindi on my machine. However, I could see Hindi fonts.

@kkshansid

Windows XP and greater operating systems support unicode font fully. So you don't need to worry about it. Your visitors will not have to download any fonts.

Just for your information - as of now Android (Mobile OS) does not support hindi fonts rendering. But I guess that is not a matter to worry.
