Filipino Translation Coordinator and members needed.
together with the soon to launch http://www.joomla.org.ph we are looking for FIlipino Translation Team and its coordinator.
among other joomla partner site, Filipino/pinoys are lacking a translation team,.. in which i know we dont need as much since most pinoys speak and write even better in english more than filipino(ironic as we all know its a fact).
in this light would like to ask who among the filipino joomla community members is interested and has the time to volounteer for the "Filipino Translation Team".
please post on this thread to indicate your interest.

Kaya kong gampanan ang katungkulan upang tumulong sa pagtutugma ng wikang ingles at tagalog o isalin ang wikang ingles sa tagalog, Natatanto, nalilirip o nauunawaan ba ninyo ang aking sinabi? Nais nyo ba na ito ay isalin ko sa wikang ingles? Hehehe okey ba? Sabihin nyo lang kung kelan ito sisimulan at nakahanda ako sa anumang oras. Teka, sino ba mga makakasama sa pagsasalin?

Re: Filipino Translation Coordinator and members needed.
Guilliam! I'm willing to sign up. Kind of a way to thank you for all that JSAS to online DB thread that you had a few weeks ago. However, before I take the plunge, I'd like to know a few things...
1. What are we going to translate? J 1.0.7? 1.1?
2. What language are we going to translate Joomla into? Filipino or Tagalog?
3. How do we translate it? If its a list of sentences and phrases that won't be a problem but if I have to dig into PHP code, I might probably break the whole site haha
4. How much time do we have? Finals are coming up and I'm already up to my neck in cases so I don't know if I can make much of a dent in the workload.
Anyway, I'm really interested! I don't know if I'm particularly qualified as I'm not an AB Filipino graduate like one suggested by wyzemoro but I think I can hold my own with Filipino. It would, of course, be better with a real AB Fil guy on the team. Joomla's made a lot of things possible the past few months that I've used it. Just want to give back a little.
Mabuhay!

Translation of 1.1 Language files & 1.1 Help files (the text you see in Admin Backend when you click `Help` and a window pops up.raymond wrote: 1. What are we going to translate? J 1.0.7? 1.1?
You will be given the necessary files to translate - mainly translation files.raymond wrote: 3. How do we translate it? If its a list of sentences and phrases that won't be a problem but if I have to dig into PHP code, I might probably break the whole site haha
You will not need to go through an PHP code.
Immediate priority is a language file for the installation process, which will be part of 1.1 Core Build.raymond wrote: 4. How much time do we have? Finals are coming up and I'm already up to my neck in cases so I don't know if I can make much of a dent in the workload.
Next is language files for installation by users. So this is not so immediate a need as this can even be completed after actual 1.1 Stable release. However as close to 1.1. stable release is optimal. No work will occur yet as these files have not been finalized yet.
The help information translation is least priority as these have not yet been completed and will not be ready probably till after 1.1 is stable.

Re: Filipino Translation Coordinator and members needed.
"Save" = in Tagalog "I-save".
