throwing in the towel.. hello bbpixel..
finally giving up, good luck predator! as for me I have a job needing to be done and I can no longer postpone waitin for updates. So i conceded and bought bbpixel's plugin, it works with joomla 1.05 and vbulletin 3.5.2.. I was also reading through their forums and they havent had a bug in 4months.(went into their bug report forum and the last post was in september) I exhausted everything i could with vbridge, but I couldn't make it work. Bye bye and good luck predator

Re: throwing in the towel.. hello bbpixel..
I am not sure if the bbpixel solution does a single sign on, or just id & password syncing... I *think* the user must still login to both forum and site...
Single sign on is what I am really after, and I will wait (and try to be patient ) for the vBridge to be finished Thanks for all your hard work Marko!

I use bbpixel on my current site (mambo 4.2.3 and vBulletin 3.07) and it works fine, however, when I tried to upgrade to joomla 1.05 and vbulletin 3.5.2 I couldnt sync the database for whatever reason and didnt get much help from them.

This bears repeating. Of course we'd all love a stable version of vbridge yesterday, but Marko is donating his free time and his energy not only in working on vbridge, but constantly coming here to answer post after post every day, despite the fact that he also has real life responsibilities to take care of.chockers wrote: understood, that is why we appreciate opensource that little bit so much more
I appreciate all the work you've done Marko, and I'll wait patiently.

Re: throwing in the towel.. hello bbpixel..
I won't touch BBPixel... I just remember alot of Problems with them from the past... Users never got the answers they were looking for, because they never responded. That MIGHT be why there's been "no problems" since September
Maybe they've changed though?
I'll continue to wait for vBridge to release the next version...

Re: throwing in the towel.. hello bbpixel..
if you have problems with vbridge
you can try to use com_connector
its free
if you dont have php5, you can use vbulletin_sql module, it works with php4
its allready updated to 1.0.5 ( and patch file included to patch any joomla version self )
and it has other modules like vWar

Re: throwing in the towel.. hello bbpixel..
i just tried bbpixel but it isn't what i am looking for.
i had some install issues and the support was actually pretty good in terms of response time and helpfulness.
unfortunately, the bbpixel hack does change much more core files than vbridge, and it you cannot administrate users from joomla
also, i saw no way of integrating CB with the hack.
bbpixel is powerful and it seems as if it treats VB in the master role and joomla in the slave role in terms of user info.
in terms of strategy while waiting for the next release, i am updating the vb users table when a new user is added (via initial LDAP auth). That way, users can still login (albeit separately) for now and I will wait patiently until predator has more time.
I would like to also thank him for his efforts. In this case, I strongly feel that the quality of his release is just as valuable as the commercial bbpixel product if not more in terms of some users' needs.
EDIT: looking a little further, time to try the com_connector. i like the idea of having separate modules where you can modify the login routine (like authenticate on an LDAP if the user isn't in jos_users, and then adding them to both joomla and vbulletin). worth a shot.... time keeps on slipping though.

Re: throwing in the towel.. hello bbpixel..
where is the other bbpixel thread ?
did it get deleted ?
I need some of the information in that thread.
I am hoping there is a reasonable explanation as to it's whereabouts ?
What kind of forum is being run here ??
Please point me to the thread.

I'll look in the cache of some of my computers.
the word bbpixel was in the subject title.
unfortunately the thread appears deleted.
I am personally offended the thread was deleted.
A number of users felt the thread was helpful.
It's not a great idea deleting useful threads.
/very disappointed.
Could the moderator who deleted please claim responsibility ?

Now that you mention it, EMRHelp, I concur. I had also posted on that thread, which basically mentioned that BBPixel was a working solution.

Re: throwing in the towel.. hello bbpixel..
bbpixel will work...except that the Wordpress component will not work when you try to post and when you try to go into admin area. I have submitted a support request, they haven't gotten back with a solution yet...
