Re: JOOMLA DATING
Hi putrakaro,
Welcome to the Joomla forum.
Sorry i don't think this is the forum to be requesting for a 3rd party component unless you are requesting it to be built into the core Joomla system. Maybe this should be moved to the discussion forum?
OFF TOPIC:
There is an open source dating system called osDate: http://www.tufat.com/s_free_dating_system.htm which you could try out until someone's comes up with a dating component for Joomla.
Never tried it but good luck.

Re: JOOMLA DATING
Well I have downloaded and tested Joomladate.
The country/city part of the component is quite complex. I have been on to their support for help.
At first they were very helpful and answered very quickly but for the last 1.5 months I have no news.
I have emailed them several times and didn't get any answer. I also posted on their forum and apparently the project looks dead.
Any info?
Thanks
Gloub

This one, osDate, looks quite good. There is one catch, though.sunburst wrote: There is an open source dating system called osDate: http://www.tufat.com/s_free_dating_system.htm which you could try out until someone's comes up with a dating component for Joomla.
It requires the index.php of your website to run the show.

Re: JOOMLA DATING
Hello,
I've been reading a lot of request for a osDate integration, so I am working on retooling it and making a free GPL/CCL that works completely inside of Joomla.
http://forge.joomla.org/sf/projects/joomladate
I'm sorry if MamboMatch is now going by joomladate, didn't know.... but that is my forge, I just released the basic front end stuff, going to work on all the other fun stuff soon, but looking for lots of feedback on all elements.

This is great news!
I have purchased Joomladate from Mamboresources.com and really regret it.
It is full of bugs and support is inexistant.
I am really looking forward to this.

Hey, I want to know what features people are looking for- although I do not ever plan on implementing a pay/status component. Please alert me to individual tasks and I will add them to my forge tasks list.

Re: JOOMLA DATING
I don't believe in making a free component that will then be used to charge others for money.
Also, creating a chat and messaging would be an incorrect choice, as these should and if I do it, will be plugged into other Joomla modules- I think if you are going to have a Messaging system it should work with any component or in Joomla in general, having private messaging and date messaging is useless (if creating individual systems for dating, why not just use osDate flat out?)
osDate doesn't have a hot or not, but simply a ratings system, which may be implemented, but I believe you could easily plug in the ratings component.
Winks are in the list of possibilities, however, because I do not plan on implementing a pay system, you could just message a person. In the systems I have looked at, winks were used as a way to communicate between not paying members without message privileges.
If however, you are looking for a complete system, you could just change your osDate install to get its member login data from Joomla, or duplicate it.
I may in the future create a commercial full version, but for the time being it will be very simple and meet the base needs of a dating site.
Thanks for the comment. In the future, when requesting any individual feature, don't just say it, explain what you want it to actually do and how users would interact with it.
Also, there is a Hot or Not component already available for anyone just looking for a rating system.

Re: JOOMLA DATING
The original Alpha version is not available for download, and should not be distributed. This version is horribly outdated, with absolutely no configuration, it was a simple proof of concept. I am currently working on the BETA, please visit http://demo.webdesignhero.com, to see it. There are no downloads at the time of this writing (Nov 5). The reason is simple. I received no feedback, not one message during the alpha release, people just wanted a free component, without testing. Since the majority of the testing is in the front end, you can request a login to the Beta, where you can test all the front end features. At this point, the commerical version will be released first, with a watered down free version to be released one month after. Pleae visit the demo site, as this is the current beta, and is the only supported version of Joomla Date I am making. There are currently no free downloads.

Re: JOOMLA DATING
I think you should change the name of the component if it not the same as http://www.joomladate.com/ you should put a download version for buggin report.
finally, I'm interested, what are the requirements and cost?

Find all the good demos, vids, and screen shots on the site. Email me with any questions through the site's form.
