Hi,

I suggest the abillity to change the http://www.domain.com/administrator admin login URL to some other URL.

For example:

http://www.domain.com/JoomlaAdmin
http://www.domain.com/MyJoomlaAdmin

Maybe this can be done already.

This will add alot of security to Joomla sites since most (if not all) admin URLs are http://www.domain.com/administrator.

The directory could be changed by creating a hard link on linux or using apache redirect, or I believe the admin url is a variable somewhere, if not, the core team should really set it up so it can easily be modified.

I'm not a Linux expert but if you create a link as you described, then http://www.domain.com/administrator is still accessible wether it's a link or not.  Right?

Yes.. though a hard link is not the same as a windows shortcut (type 'man ln' in a linux shell or goolge 'man ln'). It would seem that you are not going for convinence, but security? Changing the directory name is not super secure, if somone wants to mess with your site they can walk your site structure and find the admin files. I believe you could prevent read access to the the administrator directory and then because its hard linked you would get the same files, but this would depend on how Joomla searches for the code. I beliee the joomla core would need to be modified for your idea.
