Integrating Joomla and Efiction?

Would anyone point me in the right direction? If it is even possible? I don't need it to do anything more than share the username. Efiction provides bridges but for other programs. I thought if I looked at how it was done with the other programs then I might be able to do it with Joomla but joomla is written soo differently from other programs. I wont ofcourse give up but it wouldnt hurt if someone could give me an idea as to where to go. Please pretty pleasee? :'(
