Mali ako, mali ako. 2 years na ako'ng nasa google adsense. Medyo depressing so di ko na ginalaw ang duyan.com
(for more than 3 years) basta, i thought, ma-cover n'ya lang ang hosting n'ya + hosting ng iba'ng sites pa.
Well, 2 weeks ago, na-bored ako. So, update ko ang duyan.com
from Mambo 4.5 to Joomla 1.0.8, re-arranged the layout, changed google adsense from the left to the top and added it also to the body of the content. Bwahaha, from $1 a day to now $7-$15 per day in the last 5 days. I think now that I see the potential, a little more marketing, adding a bit more content, ....
Pareho pa rin ang visitor rate ng duyan.com. So, I learned, traffic is good, but the positioning of the ads greatly affect the outcome or income.
and how much is that "enough to pay for its hosting." ?? and how many clicks btw.. if its okay for you to disclose such info.
duyan.com had 7,034 unique visitors in the month of October with 10,014 total visits and with a total of 70,955 pages viewed. So, if I made $30 for the month of October (I have not checked because it is depressing in a way, but since I have not touched the site in a year, it's okay too), divide that by 10,014 (total number of visits), I made $0.003 per visit or $0.000423 per viewed page. (hmmm... looking at that stats makes it more depressing.)
To make $1k per day, you would need what, 70k unique visitors per day? (Going by duyan.com's stats, if you get 10x more its hits -- 70k unique visitors per month -- would result in $0.30 per visit, far from the $1k per day you're shooting for.) Unless you have a great marketing plan with a lot of money to spend to get visitors in, good luck. (duyan.com spends $0 in marketing, and never has spent any money to attract viewers. As a matter of fact, it hasn't been touched for more than 2 hours for over a year. So, I'm fine with its income. It pays for the VPS.)
