Pinoy MOD wont be checking forum as much(TEMPORARILLY).

Post by guilliam » Sun Mar 19, 2006 2:21 am

hi to all.

as some might noticed, i havent been into the forums as much since last friday.
my mother has been rushed to the hospital last friday for a resperatory attack.
she's a lil old and have been sickly. not much of a news in our family.

in this light i would like to inform the Pinoy community, that i wont be as much in the forums as what i used to.
since im going from the hospital to and fro.
unfortunately there is no wifi in the hospital, too bad ;)

so all pinoy members.. dont post too much "out of topic" and please moderate your own postings, you know what i mean. ;)

hi to all!

sorry for the very late/delayed reply and not beeing around.

as per last week mom was in hospital.
this week it was my turn to be in the sick bay.

ive been sick with strep-throat and high temp fever.

EXTRA - EXTRA's:

this bacteria might hit you too and you may just neglect it(in which most pinoy does is just NEGLECT the illness and avoid visiting proper medical attention) and later regret its too LATE already when you knew it.
a.)  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strep_throat
just a reference for the streptoccus that can be read here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streptococcus
(i got familiar with this bacteria and how LETHAL it is when NEGLECTED since its the same bacteria that caused my father passing away.)
quoted from MY personal email to friends and families on their inquiries(sharing it for info):
> what i got (pain in throat and high temp
> fever) was "Group A Strep" which if not treated soon
> enough is as lethal as any other classes of strep
> infections which the bacteria will multiply so fast
> internally and would damage any internal organs along
> its path(from the throat down to lungs and heart and so forth;
> in case of strep-throat)...
> and darn the meds i took are freakin expensive.
> however it was very effective. dad's case was
> "Group D Strep" which it attacks first from the
> bottom to top. starts like in the reproductive
> organ/urinary tract then internally upwards damaging
> anything on its path as any class of streptoccus
> infections(pancreas, kidneys, liver, will be lucky
> enough if it goes higher since most cases its only
> up to the kidneys or liver).
>
> b.) i have concluded that the strep infection i got
> is from my stay in the hospital since streptococcus are
> aerobic/airial and are common to be in nosocomial
> (hospital/clinic environments) which is stayed in
> the hospital(for my mom). unfortunately my body
> immune system is low and those micro got me infected.
bottom line to all pinoy's:
dont wait until you arent able to stand anymore before consulting medical help. this is mostly the cases that happens to us Filipinos that we neglect illness to avoid expenses. not knowing that it would inflict MORE and higher expenses if you neglected at first. this means that streptococcus is a very lethal to us Filipinos, since we oftenly neglect to consult medical attention at first signs this gives an avenue for the bacteria to spread internally; in which are so darn FAST(5 to 6 days and its full blown internally) if not given proper medical attention.

SECOND, if you be visting or be staying to accompany a friend or a relative which is confined in a hospital; remember of the word in "nosocomial" or means "hospital/clinic environments" in which this bacteria(strep) are always airborne/aerobic. so best if you you accompany someone in a hospital make sure you have taken a lot of Vitamin C or those that boosts your body immune system.

THIRD, im NOT a doctor and absolutely do not have any proper education in the medical field(its obviously the DIRECT opposite of my degrees). this info is given as a personal and non-medical opinion and a collaborative personal info i have gathered imperically and from the words lifted from third party sources(my doctor, info from net and encylo). feel free to add or object. :)

again thank you to all those who shared their prayers and concern during my absence. it really helps ;)

Dang. I knew something had happened to you. Yea, I have heard of others getting sick going into the hospital as a guest. You need to be really, really, really careful, g, that you get completey 100% well. Strep is nothing to mess around with. Take every single bit of the antibiotics and be extra certain you get needed rest.

And, we Americans wait to long, too, to seek medical treatment.

I am *so happy* your mother is fine. How about dad, then? You say he got Strep, too. Is he feeling better?

Get lots for rest, friend, and take care. Thanks for popping in and letting us know how you are doing!

Amy

Oh, Guilliam, I am so sorry. I did not pick up on that in your post. So, you do understand the importance of getting well. I had read it that he, too, got sick on Sunday. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. Amy
