Media Manager - root directory

Post by H13 » Tue Dec 11, 2007 10:19 am

Hi, root directory of Media Manager is now images/stories/ instead of images/.

Is this final solution?

Where should I place images which are using from non basic component. E.g.:

Phoca Gallery component - Images was saved in images/phocagallery folder. User uploaded their images via Media Manager. Now, they have no access to images/phocagallery/, because root directory is images/stories/.

Should I create: images/stories/phocagallery/ folder? Maybe it will be confusing...  ??? Is there other way to solve this problem (maybe changing of root directory in Media Manager)?

Thank you Jan

Should I create: images/stories/phocagallery/ folder?
Some of us have asked access to Images folder directly but no success.
Therefore I guess that using images/stories is the way to go.

It can be a problem in future. Now there are a few amount of components, they are using Media Manager, but in the future: Images, Videos, PDFs, Docs, ... all that files will be placed in images/stories/ ??? Is there a serious reason to do images/stories/ as a root folder?

As far as I remember, there was a good reason for front-end access (something to do with security).
Issue for a few of us is that it acts the same in back-end.
