please post your suggestions on what are the FEATURES to be included in the soon to be http://www.joomla.org.ph on this thread.

currently on the dicussion table:

1. the creation and to be the HOME of the Philippine Joomla Translatino Team
2. forum
3. user/member submission of articles, news items, pr items,
4. Joomla Filipino Site Showcase portal. submitted by members.
5. POSSIBLE downloads and links directory of components, modules, mambots, hacks,.. etc.
6. POSSIBLE FREE HOSTING under the subdomains for those Pinoy newbies that are bonafide members.

site showcase with article -> like how did they hack it? i think in this way it will be a big help to fully understand different techniques of how to hack each members site. maybe share their template?

got this suggestion NOTED. will see then, will make a custom component maybe for user submission of thier site showcase with fields on details how they have made it.. or possible that we can use AKO comment for this so that at the end of the site showcase other members can ask questions pertaining to their site.

the official joomla directory site will have that,.. SOON to come.. so it will be something redundant to have it and besides its RESOURCE eating to have such to maintain reviews etc.. BUT lets see if how active our volunteers will be once the site is up and running.

i just got an idea of giving FREE hosting space as wellwith full cpanel to be placed under subdomains. it will only be available to bonafide filipino and filipino-alike joomla community members.. so that it will give a taste specially those newbies who havent decided yet to purchase their own hosting. maybe a 25mb per account will do.. just to be made as their demo site, or their sample site before really BUYING a real hosting space.

currently, stingrey will be shouldering the hosting of the main site.. i might pitch in one VPS account for this or someone might donate the hosting space for this idea of FREE hosting PLUS cPanel

It might be early still, but I could think of something like a newbie support area.
Newbies are usually grasping each step of the way in setting up and enhancing Joomla.
There are a lot of experts here, but explaining things to newbies and getting things
understood and done by them requires some amount of effort. Sharing code is explaining
in itself but a lot are still indimidated by codes, much more with PHP new converts. So, I
would suggest that the new site cater to those needs.

- Tutorial section primarily for Joomla, PHP, MySQL, Apache and Layout/Design (links to existing tutorials will do the job)
- Joomla PH pocket reference
