Gusto ko tumulong sa Coding, Let me help. I am Willing to Help In-Terms of Coding, its my hobby,
and proudly Philippine made. I am willing to share, help and contribute for the opensource community specially when it is free
for end users.
I am not that good, but what I say is that I love what I do and although small, proud of my achievements.

Hooorayyy!

Re: volunteers/staff/team members for www.joomla.org.ph development
I am willing to contribute some of my skills into this project. Please consider these questions I have in mind about the site's nature like:
1. Will the site be focussing into another distribution (version) forked from Joomla?
2. Is the site only for Filipino developers and users?
I can help in net marketing. I am used to forum brigades, search engine submissions and newsletter authoring. I can also help in content authoring and management. And also, if needed, I can develop PHP scripts in an OOP manner; I can also manipulate graphics using Photoshop and layout HTML codes using Dreamweaver.

Re: volunteers/staff/team members for www.joomla.org.ph development
Hi Astig,
IMHO, Joomla! Philippine (http://www.joomla.org.ph) is the venue for Filipino community of Joomla and also from this community we gather our strength to form the Filipino Translation Team (Project website: http://forge.joomla.org/sf/projects/fil ... anslations ) as our way of giving back and helping the Joomla! project thru translation of Joomla! Core, documentation, components and modules.
What i understand and know with http://www.joomla.org.ph is the Official Filipino Translation Partner of the Joomla! Project. Please correct me Pareng joomlasticman, guilliam and stingrey. This site also will host the HELP System/Files of Joomla translated into Filipino.
my answer to your question:
1. The site is NOT to work to fork Joomla. we do translation/localisation of Joomla to Filipino language and support the currently growing userbase of Filipino joomla users.
2. The site if for everyone who uses Joomla! specially for Filipino who wants his Joomla website to support Filipino language.
what we do really need now is a dedicated member for Filipino Translation Team .. at least can lend few hours in one week or his free time to translate. Now, mostly members of the team are currently busy with their works and having hard time to do the translation. Thanks to pareng Julian who do the GREAT job! he translated many many lines of the core and components.
On translation team if you can't join with the translation task you can also try to beta test the translated ... comment if it works and the translated words are acceptable.
Heres the current uploaded on our Forge for testing:
Component:
1. AkoComment
2. OpenSEF
3. Joom!Fish
4. MambelFish
Joomla! Core
1. check our SVN repository at Forge. currently its Julian who is so busy with translation of the Joomla! 1.5
my apologies to everyone as im so busy with my Summer class. hardly have time to play with Joomla ... i even also find it hard to post in this forum. but soon i'll get back into translation and post here in forum to help.
feel free to ask if you still have a doubt with my answers or have more questions to throw. hehe.

Pareng Wyzemoro,
Thanks for that post Wyzemoro. I was enlightened to see my fellow translator recruiting new translators! I was also too busy lately due to my wife arriving here in the United States. Too many paperworks, procedures and processing Fees! We are now waiting for the Visa approval .... "heart beating so fast" oh please oh please let her come to me now so that i can focus with my projects.

Thanks for the enlightenment and for being straightforward, wyzemoro.
I am willing to help you regarding translations. Put me in and let me know about the team's translating procedures so I can start.

Pareng Joomlasticman,
wala yun... to have a sustainable translation team we need more members that were dedicated. we will not be here all the time. at least pagwala tayo meron parin magpapatuloy sa translation team.

Re: volunteers/staff/team members for www.joomla.org.ph development
Should I start translating /joomla/language/english.php to Filipino or meron na neto at ibang strings nalang ang kailangan i-translate?

Re: volunteers/staff/team members for www.joomla.org.ph development
Eto ang mga napansin kong disadvantages:
Too complex for small businesses
As a developer, may presumption ako na hindi akma sa small companies ang Joomla! na nangangailangan lang ng konti at direct features. Bakit ko nasabi?
Philippines is still in its early age to embrace I.T.
Not ready for tableless design
I may be incorrect about this.
Joomla! deployment on a client site must be accompanied by a good orientation.
"Ok, so this product is the top CMS... Well, tell us how to use this." This is a presumption for a client site developed using Joomla! So pano nga ba nila matututunang gamitin ito? Documentation is not enough.

Re: volunteers/staff/team members for www.joomla.org.ph development

http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp
Eto direct link sa tableless:
http://www.w3schools.com/css/tryit.asp? ... css_float6
http://www.google.com.ph/search?hl=en&q ... arch&meta=
