Warning: Realtyna doesn't support Joomla anymore

Postby Krki » Thu Nov 24, 2016 2:37 pm

Hello

How come that Realtyna is still listed in JED:
https://extensions.joomla.org/extension/realtyna-rpl
Even after they stated that Joomla is not supported by them anymore?
They basically said that WordPress is better and more secure than Joomla so they will discontinue support and development for Joomla:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1leE ... ef=2&pli=1

What's funny is that Wordpress vulnerabilities far outnumber those in Joomla (by almost 3 times).

This. I also had much more troubles when I maintained WP websites than Joomla ones.

IMHO their main reason for ditching Joomla is that developing for 2 platforms cost money.
So they decided to cut the expenses and to stick with more popular CMS with more users.

But I simply hated how they covered their business move with false statements.

Another issue with wordpress:
Last year I purchased Be Theme, one of most popular and versatile WP themes.
That theme is packed with few 3rd party add-ons
And during this year, that theme was updated zilion times.
Which is good, but with one small catch: No automatic update :)
Also no automatic updates for add-ons, at least not without purchasing subscription for em .

So what in start looks like promising and versatile reasonable priced theme
turns into expensive and logistic nightmare because of manual work which takes time and time is money.

Yet Jomres is proof you can run on both CMSs with the same codebase.

Hello

I wonder how come that RPL still listed in JED?

They completely stopped Joomla support. Link to RPL in JED will only lure people away from Joomla because Realtyna guys are claiming that WordPress is more secure and hassle free to maintain.

I did - today.
But couple of other users also reported it before. RPL indeed went offline from JED but it was back pretty soon.

That sounds interesting if it also support Joomla 3.7 out of the box and I looking forward to see this listed on JED. Just wonder how long time it take for JED to publish it? :(

Anibal whats the process to publish a listing for JED does it take more than a week to get it listed? ???

I have not found it non JED yet and in 2 days the Joomla 3.7 is released too.. :pop

There is so many improvments you can do with RPL and the only urgent problem with old RPL is the mootools java script stuff conflicts ( https://joomla.stackexchange.com/questi ... -not-found ) and the SWFpro uploader for uploading Pro Images and Pro Attachment upload for many objects at the same time.

Simple upload works well but not Pro for certain web browsers like Safari and Firefox there its problems.

I would be nice to replace this with something that also EasyBlog from Stackideas have like Plupload?

http://www.plupload.com/contributing

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And that you can import/export properties by xml etc for different MLS https://www.listhub.com/broker-mls-list.html

And improve multilanguage SEO https://moz.com/blog/guide-to-international-seo

Speed up CSS rendering https://jonassebastianohlsson.com/criti ... generator/

Make modern design like some WordPress themes https://themeforest.net/item/wp-residen ... me/7896392

Hello JED team! Where are you?

I get an answer back 3 of April from Anibal Sanchez that they cant confirm that RPL doesnt support Joomla anymore bcs they have a fake support page still alive. But did Anibal send an email and asked them? No. So this is fake pages.

And this is as Trumph would have loved Fake news. They tricking the whole Joomla community!

I also created a new ticket 20 Apr '17 04:09 that Jaz Parkyn take care of.

I can send documentation that proof that Real Tyna not support Joomla anymore and there are several people here that can confirm that this Iranian company not support Joomla anymore but using their website for transfering people to WordPress and their solution WPL! They just have a offshore registered USA company with phone numbers that never work and nobody answers..

Pls act and do something about this. I can send you documentation and statements about confirmation about that.

JED

Hi, Thanks for reaching out!

We have checked the extension, and we have been unable to confirm that they do not support Joomla.

For further reference: RPL Implementation

http://joomla.realtyna.us/services/rpl-implementation

Please, send us the link where they declare Joomla as insecure or that they do not provide support for Joomla.

Good bcs if you dont sell or you dont support an Joomla extension but still doing this to trick the market then its very obvious what this company is doing..its should not be listed on JED and banned. They just have their Joomla RPL section to lure people over to WordPress and talk s h i t about Joomla.

Then of course if they trick other people that they still sell or support Joomla just to make the be WordPress customer to them thats another thing we can do anything about Anibal its just shows what this company is doing to its Joomla & WP customers.

Its all about trust.

Hi Anibal,

I reported this to JED team where it was handed over to Jaz at JED team 3 of April 2017.

Today its 9 of June 2017 and still nothing happened in this case RPL still is listed.

Its seems it very difficult to be listed on JED but a total different story when an extension that should not be listed on JED bcs its not sold for Joomla any more or have any support for Joomla any more or have anything to do with Joomla anymore and infringe/violate Joomla trademark! Still its listed! and seems "have to be listed" for some mysterious reasons bcs of its "fake news" on its web page.

https://extensions.joomla.org/extension/realtyna-rpl/

If you go to there site you can not download the product http://joomla.realtyna.us/RPL-Addons or you cant buy or get any service for Joomla RPL product! Dont you understand what was reported to the JED team several times! The support system is closed for all Joomla users! https://support.realtyna.com/ They want people to go forward from the first menu "Wordpress Real Estate" before the home menu.

The only way you had to buy RPL for Joomla before was with a Paypal private Irani private account and its extra extensions!

Nothing can be bought now for Joomla or any service! They using Joomla and showcasing on that page that is only WordPress WPL sites just to get leads from Joomla JED free of charge advertising! They talk sh..t about Joomla and just to swing them over to WordPress and you let this happens in front of your noose..

Dont you understand?

This is unacceptable Anibal!

Hi

RPL is still listed in JED!?
Something is fishy here or JED staff simply doesn't care!?

I don't understand why does JED still lists RPL because:
- You have the proof that support for Joomla is stopped almost year ago
- You have many reports about same thing
- They gave Joomla bad name by notifying all of their users that WP is better, easier to maintain, less prone to hacking, overall more secure.

IMHO only true thing why they left is that WP is is simply more popular than Joomla and they don't want any more to spend for development and support for Joomla.

I want to make it quite clear from the outset that (a) I have never used this real-estate product listing extension (and I have no interest in this kind of thing) and (b) I don't have any interest in whether Joomla is better than Woodpress or DelayPal or LEGO® or whatever flavour-of-the-month-CMS we might be discussing.

The only important point to make in this discussion is this
darb wrote:It's ... very difficult [to have your extensions added to the] JED but a total[ly] different story when an extension, that should not be listed on [the] JED, ... [remains listed].
I read the article referred to in the first message of this topic; the article appears to have been written before 2 June 2016. The article is fairly matter-of-fact about stating that Realtyna is not supporting their real-estate product for Joomla. It is also clear that several JED developers, concerned that the integrity of the JED may be called into question because of unscrupulous others who are purportedly abusing the JED to lure customers with false promises, have reported these matters to the JED team. It is clear that, since this topic was created (some 21 months ago) there has been no action to remove the offence.

Indeed, the actions that have been taken by the JED actually point to a systemic problem within the JED team management. It's not that the reports to the JED team are being ignored, the JED team is actually defending the offence when all the evidence says otherwise. This is actually compounding the offence and breaks our faith in the JED team as being fair, impartial and on the side of decent, honest contributors.

I don't think the proposition—that "Xyz doesn't support Joomla anymore"—really cuts to the heart of the matter. At the heart of the matter is why does the JED team "support" the continued listing of Xyz? That's the question that hasn't been addressed in this discussion.

So, while I really don't care about this particular extension, itself, I do care about how—in the face of compelling evidence—the JED team can defend the indefensible!

I did have a quiet chuckle when I saw that the developers are citing "security" as one of the reasons why they are moving to Wordpress.

Recently, several SQL injection vulnerabilities in the extension were reported to the VEL, which we confirmed, see: https://vel.joomla.org/vel-blog/2016-realtyna-rpl-all-versions-sql-injection.

We have been enquiring from the developers whether there is any prospect of a security release, we received this response:

Thank you for brining this to our attention.

It’s almost 2 years that we announced that RPL based on Joomla has been discontinued and we continued security upgrades for 1 year.We offered our clients to migrate to our newest version of software based on Wordpress.

We take it that means "no".

Since some developers are talking about making a fork of this extension for Joomla, I hope that they will be making a priority of fixing the vulnerable code.
