Issue with Joomla reviews and extensions.joomla.org

I've wanted to leave feedback on a commercial extension but it's been impossible.

I tried creating a new account and got another error:

Is the extension directory being discontinued?

According to the error message, you may be using a VPN service or your router has an open port for a server. The JED checks the source of the incoming connections to block spammers and those checks catch cheats but they can result in false positives, too.

Thank you for this report. The JED has not been discontinued but it seems to have issues. I reproduced the SMTP error in the registration process and reported the issue to the host.

The host has now fixed the issue with SMTP. If you create a new account with a different username and email, you should now receive the email to activate the account.

Apparently creating a new account was not the right way because JED allows only one account per user, even if the first account is inactive and cannot be accessed. Please PM me with your user name(s) in JED and I will forward the message to the JED team so that they can fix the situation.
