Unable to download plgjpiwik Topic is solved

I attempted to download plgjpiwik. I was redirected to a page to make a donation. I attempted '0' zero but didn't work. So I made a donation, was redirected to PayPal, I made a donation by CC, but on return, it gave me a 404 error, no page found. I have put a negative review as I was unable to find anyway to contact the developer.

Joomla should require a confirmed contact form or email for anyone listing an extension so purchasers can contact developers with issues like this.

So I'm out my donation and I have no way to download the plgjpiwik extension.

Oh I know how to do that. The issue is I would like to try this plugin to see if it solves my clients need. But I can't find a way to contact the developer other than issuing a negative review with the reason and hope he responds directly.

It looks like that extension (a) is for J! 3.x, (b) was last updated 8 years ago and (c) is not free of charge (setting aside the difficulties you had using Paypal). Requiring a "donation" in order view the download link for an extension does not seem to sit comfortably with the product being listed on the JED as a "free extension". Perhaps you should report the extension to the JED team? The JED team can investigate the matter and take appropriate action.

That is not a requirement or part of the ToS for products listed on the JED. Additionally, many people (a) do not like contact forms on their websites and (b) do not advertise their email addresses because these things are abused by spammers. I don't think your idea will be adopted by the JED and, if it were adopted, it would be impossible for JED team members to police it.

Thanks, Luke. It will probably take a week for the JED team to action the report but it's good what you've done to prevent this happening again to some other unsuspecting purchaser. Best wishes, too, that you receive a refund from Paypal for your "donation".

Not need to be mean, a drop of honey catches more flies than a barrel of vinegar in one hand. On the other hand the promise of JED is EXACTLY this - the tickets will be handled WITHIN A WEEK.
