Jed search do not work

Post by electrocity » Wed Oct 25, 2017 8:36 pm

I tried to use MYSITE.ext/administrator/index.php?option=com_installer&view=install
Install from the WEB and searched for kunena.
result >
https://appscdn.joomla.org/webapps/inde ... npcallback

I got a lot of result, but not my search(only page 3)
I tried to change search order, but got a plenty results before kunena.
Why is the extension name not the primary search, because you feel as it's bugged ?

I tried another search "language switcher", i think that no result exist, but i got the full list and no warnings' not found'.
Have someone checked if the search work right ?

If you search for "sef" you get as 1st result
By review > rsform, VirtueMart, EasyBlog...
By Score > easy blog, Event Booking, Fa lang...

You should really add a a filter "Only name", i think it helps many Joomla users.
Why not a more strict search ? Because displaying many do not help, it's faster to grab the link or ZIP in each owner site's then checking 500 results.

I tested this search https://extensions.joomla.org/extension ... rfilters=1
And first result is .... KUNENA.
So i think it's not so hard to modify it for the team

Hi,

We are aware of the search issues of the current implementation. Since it was designed with a different stack than the general site, it is not possible to easily unify both developments.

To replace it, we are already working on the next major version of the site (a.k.a JED4).

Best Regards,
