... have alpha stage plugins (all up to now) [removed from the JED] and create new beta staged plugins which are updated from the beta 1 release date
Are you asking for plugins (and perhaps other extensions) to be removed from the JED or are you asking that the "J!4 Alpha" badges are removed from the JED?

This appears to be a comment about how "J!4-ready" extensions are listed on the JED, as opposed to general J! 4 testing, and ia question that would be more appropriate if this topic were relocated in the extensions.joomla.org - Feedback/Information, IMO.

Yes the isAdmin() method (as with isSite() method) has been deprecated since J! 3.7 and was replaced by isClient(). J! 4 simply removes support for the older methods and flags them as errors.

Therefore this extension should not have the j4 tag on the jed.

The methods were removed between two alphas. So the extension is compatible with some 4.0-alpha versions. This would be less confusing if JED had compatibility tags for every version.

I agree with @brian and @SharkyKZ. See also viewtopic.php?f=262&t=980535&p=3607160#p3607160.

The JED "compatibility" tags can mean whatever you want them to mean.
