Authorisation using digital certificates

Post by epeeist » Thu Oct 13, 2005 8:45 am

One of the websites I am converting uses digital certificates as part of the authorisation process. The users are then authenticated against Active Directory  :'( This gives them a profile which determines which menu items and web pages they can see.

After a succesful login pages are served over HTTPS rather than HTTP.

1. Has anyone modified the  user authentication to do a similar sort of thing?

2. How do you make Joomla serve pages over HTTPS in a standard LAMP environment?

No idea, but interested! Anyone seen sth making login or vulnerable processes more secure in general?
