IIS - mySQL Administrator

Post by Haribo85 » Wed Mar 08, 2006 3:15 pm

Hi,

Within mySQL administrator I have looked at it and can see where users come to my site.

What I am wondering is why connection usage is at 3% even though no one is on the site and also the Traffic is 13kb when no one is browsing?

SQL Queries is at 0 when no one is browsing which seems right.

Any ideas?

Thanks

The database connections have a timeout period which must expire before MySQL Administrator properly shows them gone.

Thanks kenmcd,

Is the traffic the same then? Will that go down when the connections timeout?

Where is this information set?

Thanks

The "Traffic" graph is based on an average.
I don't think you are going to get it to 0.
The formulas for the calculations are in the setup.

In MySQL config file there is a setting "wait_timeout" - this will affect the connections present.

If your applications use persistent connections, and you have MySQL setup to allow persistent connections - this will affect the connections present.

There are others . . .

Certain Apache settings may also affect the connections life.

Why are you so interested in getting these to zero?

Hi,

Thanks for the info.

Im was just wondering why they never went to zero even with no connectivity on them. Just seemed strange to me!

Useful information. By the way could you recomend any MySQL GUI Client? I've been using MySQL Workbench http://www.mysql.com/products/workbench/ for a while but its functional is rather poor for me... For Windows the excellent choice was dbForge Studio http://www.devart.com/dbforge/mysql/studio/ but for now I need the tool for working with MAC. Could you advise the similar professional tool for MAC as dbForge Studio is for WIndows?
