CiviEvent 1 member 1 booking?

Post by mylesorme » Mon Apr 09, 2007 6:52 pm

Is there a one to one mapping between a member and a booking for an event - or is there any way to allow a member to purchase more than one ticket for a performance?

We are a not-for-profit collective that organises live entertainment events.

We want to use CiviEvent to sell tickets to gigs (performances) - but so far I think each person has to book in individually - whilst this has great advantages for tracking attendance (and I'd dearly like that) we want people to buy tickets for their friends as well as for themselves and no-one is going to log in several times to buy tickets one at a time; They'll just give up.

The reason for using CiviEvent is that we also have different classes of membership with subscriptions and use email as the principle communication vehicle with our members - so CiviCRM handles everything we need - membership, mail, events and contributions....

This is not possible in v1.7. However v1.8 has the following being worked on as a contribution by Ideal Solutions LLC

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/disp ... t+Fee+Sets

This will allow someone to purchase one more more tickets. Alternatively in CiviEvent today, you could have options for folks to buy 1/2/3/4.../10 tickets with different amounts

Thank you Lobo - great to hear about the development and thanks for pointing out the work-around - big relief.
