Broken page on "Migrate to Joomla 4"
Funny. Just when I decide I have to upgrade to Joomla 4, the main link doc that I see in the backend gives an internal error.

Re: Broken page on "Migrate to Joomla 4"
I guess that is a dynamic link. I am at Joomla 3.10.1 so it gives me this link:
https://docs.joomla.org/Special:MyLangu ... 0.x_to_4.x
Your link works for me but above does not.

Re: Broken page on "Migrate to Joomla 4"
The link you quoted here works for me. Where exactly do you see the main link doc that I see in the backend ? At the bottom left of a J3 Control Panel I see a link under Support Status that says End of support for Joomla 3.10 ... - is that the one you are using?quickening wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 5:53 pm I guess that is a dynamic link. Re: Broken page on "Migrate to Joomla 4"
Thanks, @AMurray.
I tested the link using Opera, MS Edge and Google Chrome and they all work. I tested the link using Firefox on another PC (different OS) and it works there, too. It seems that the link doesn't work for me on this PC with Firefox (v114.0) but I haven't invested any time to dive into it. It may be something as simple as rebooting the PC?
As puzzling as it is, I don't have problems with other areas of JDOCS so I'm just parking my findings here, for what [little] they're worth.
UPDATE: I tried the link on another [Win8.1] PC with Firefox and the result was the same: non-functional!
UPDATE 2: Non-functional with Safari on my iPad.

Re: Broken page on "Migrate to Joomla 4"
From the screenshot provided by sozzled this looks like an intermittent fault in the MediaWiki installation and nothing to do with Joomla or the the user platform and browser combination. Unless someone has a different error message to report!

Screenshot from @sozzled is what I see, every time I try the link.
I can google the link and the cached version of the page works fine.

Re: Broken page on "Migrate to Joomla 4"
I tried an experiment using wget in a terminal window:
wget https://docs.joomla.org/Special:MyLangu ... 0.x_to_4.x
What I get back is the stack trace reported by sozzled.
So I guess this problem results from some sort of incomplete interaction between server and browser. I looked at the headers exchanged with my browser but as it works for me there was no obvious problem. I am now out of my depth!

Re: Broken page on "Migrate to Joomla 4"
This problem with MediaWiki seems to have been resolved. This was posted on GitHub by wilsonge late last night:
https://github.com/joomla/joomla-websit ... 1585146791So I definitely introduced this on Monday when I was trying to update the template to follow some of the newer Mediawiki 1.35 best practices in anticipation of doing a 1.39 upgrade in the not so distant future. Why it seems to have been cached I have no clue. I've just purged all cache within the mediawiki. Then all the lscache and no joy
Then when all else failed I went to go ponder things and remove the setting to show the stack trace from the config because I'd not meant to leave that enabled. And on removing that setting suddenly the wget thing worked (at least for me) too. So I'm totally baffled
But hopefully maybe I've fixed it without understanding who/what/where and why

Re: Broken page on "Migrate to Joomla 4"
Looks like George broke a couple of things recently. Thanks, @ceford, for helping to explain the mystery. We weren’t imagining things.
Seems to work now with Safari on my iPad.
