Link to wiki policy

Post by masterchief » Sun Feb 13, 2011 11:06 pm

Just a suggestion. Could the link to the wiki policy (http://docs.joomla.org/JDOC:Wiki_policy) be made a little more prominent (link in the FAQ, link in the footer of all page?). Some people are a bit confused about what they can and can't do, particularly regarding external links Having actually found it I find the policy to be perfectly sensible :)

Possibly need an FAQ to expand of certain things. For example, I would see external links to individual videos in the Joomla channel on [youtube] to be appropriate, and also categories in the JED, JRD, Showcase and even forum threads or official mailing list threads.

Good suggestions. I have added a link in the "About Joomla! Documentation" page which is linked from every page on the wiki. I have also revised the layout of the home page and it now includes a direct link to the policy.

I think your idea of including a list of "approved" links is not a bad one. It will need to be a guide only as there will always be exceptions that we didn't think of when we compiled the list. I'll try to put something together soon.

Chris.
