how to add a new tutorial to Joomla!Doc

For the website of my club I have some specific ideas of adding a component to enable members to store and retrieve private data in the database. The HelloWorld tutorial shows how to do so in the backend, but I need that in the frontend. There do exist extensions that do something comparable, but not quite what I want.

Eventually I found the solution myself, but I have to admit that it took me quite some time. There is a lot of Joomla documentation but finding the right answer is difficult.

Bottom line: I wrote down my findings in a kind of tutorial for our own usage, but it might be useful as well for others with the same requirements. My current version of the tutorial is on GitHub, but are there guidelines to get it to Joomla! Doc?

I started the introduction page at https://docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Developing ... e_function but just want to check before continuing.

... or I could of course just start ... undoubtedly violating numerous guidelines ... and just correct them after feedback.

https://docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Developing ... e_function :

"This is a multiple-article series of tutorials on how to develop a Component for frontend editing of private data by users. The tutorial also describes how to upload and download data."

Hello Eric,

The Documentation is, just like Joomla software, maintained and created by the community = You :)

Try have a look at the Docs About page to get some guidelines:
https://docs.joomla.org/JDOC:About

Beside that, just go start writing and share. People like contributions like the suggested one.

Hi Ole,

Thanks for your reply. I did already what you suggested and just start. There is a lot of documentation about documentation so I might have missed some guidelines. But I guess there will be feedback if changes are needed.

In the mean time I'll look at your suggested 'About' page.
