Writing docs in my personal area? Is there any point?

Post by MarkRS » Fri Nov 11, 2022 8:54 pm

I do do this, because I think there potentially is a point.

Having said that, is there any way to know how many times my pages have been viewed?

If it were always "zero" then there'd be little point, but without knowing... can I know if there is any point?

Mediwiki does have a hit counter but I guess it is not implemented. Google for mediawiki hit counter

I would regard personal space as a place for personal notes - but I keep mine locally.

Your hit count went up by 1 today!

To my surprise, personal space articles appear in the main index just the same as the "main" docs and, since trying to join the docs team so far has just been a pointless exercise, putting things in my personal space is all that's left. Well, not quite all since we can edit main docs, (presumably) not create them though.

Incidentally, I edited the J4 tutorial section in the portal area to include your set of articles on writing a component. Seemed remiss that it wasn't there. Hmmm, they are in the main docs area, aren't they?
