Sam, let me answer a few points.

1. The entrance fee does not cover the cost. We have to fork out our own money, some sponsors and a little contribution from Joomla.org

2. JoomlaDay is a community event, not a "training" session. If you expect to be spoon-fed with knowledge while you just sit there, you'll be disappointed.

3. We have called up the community and put up invitation for speakers and paper a log time ago. Basically anyone is free to come up with a topic to present to the rest of the community. Hardly anyone come forward.

4. The speakers at the event were NOT a professional trainer. They don't give training for a living and I totally expect them to sucks at presentation. But they did their best and I can vouch for their technical expertise and experience.

5. Yes, you are right. If you want to learn anything, you can simply sit at home and head to google. This would apply not just to joomla, but every single topic you could think of.

6. As this is a community event, organized by volunteer who have gain absolutely no financial benefit, I would invite you to take active part in the Malaysian Joomla community. Perhaps you could contribute your time and energy to make it a better event next year.
