Building a stock photography website with Joomla?

Post by spookie3000 » Thu Jan 19, 2006 2:31 pm

Hi everyone!
I need to build a stock photography website.
I need a gallery which:
automatically makes a few different versions of 1 image (one small watermarked, one bigger watermarked and different sizes to specification in the admin area)
People visiting the site should be able to view only the watermarked images in a gallery and a larger watermarked example for a better view, and after that should be able to buy either the digital version for download, or a printed version in which case the printshop would automatically get a mail with the needed image and the specifications to which it should be printed plus the address to send it to.

Is there anyone with suggestions on how to do this (preferably using Joomla of course, but other options also welcome)?
Many thanks!

Coppermine might be able to do what you need with the help of a few additional hacks. While I haven't tackled this myself, you might want to take a look at these threads in the Coppermine forum:

Watermarking: http://coppermine-gallery.net/forum/ind ... ic=16286.0
Shopping Cart: http://coppermine-gallery.net/forum/ind ... ic=14202.0

Coppermine can be made to run with Joomla either within a wrapper or with a commercial (but cheap) component by joombla.com. There are also bridges available so you can integrate users as well.

Kind regards,
Zorro
