How to edit the footer

Hi There,

I have taken over this site http://www.goulburnembroidery.com.au/ and i want edit the footer - how do i find out where to do this- i have looked in all the footer files but the words to edit are not there.

Looks like you are using one of the Joomla Art templates.
Here is how you can edit it.

Open file: templates/ja_template/html/mod_footer/default.php, remove/change the text. Kindly keep the HTML mark-up.

Note: ja_template in the above path shall be the name of your template.

If you don't see such file:

Copy default.php file from the \plugins\system\jat3\base-themes\default\html\mod_footer\ folder to the /templates/ja_template/html/mod_footer/ folder. And then, open that newly created File and edit the text as above guides.

Is there an easy way to find where to edit most sites footers- I have used wordpress most of my life but been given 20 new sites to maintain so just learning Joomla- i have tried this way on a few other sites but no luck. other sites include highpraises.org.au, 307squadron.com etc . Thanks.

Well, each of them has almost similar procedure. However due to different frameworks and layouts, you may find slight differences.

The site seems to be on Joomla 1.5. Can you help me with the template name and if possible. It would help to help you.

Just to confirm the correct templete is the one with the star isn't it? So it should be rt_firenzie_j15

Looks like a rocket theme. Go to \templates\rt_firenzie and look for index.php

Look between line number 298 to 304.

If you don't find it, download this file over your desktop using an ftp and search for the text "Etisym". You shall be able to locate one; replace it with your desired one.

Let me know if you find it difficult.

Hi Syhussaini sorry for the long delay- no luck with this - the footer contents doesn't seem to be in this file \templates\rt_firenzie and look for index.php i have looked in a few others but still no luck with this one. Any other ideas?

Did you try the download step i.e. download the file and then search inside the file.
I have the original template setup in local file system, I was able to locate it at the same location I mentioned in my earlier post.
