AdsManager Category Images

I've added some images to my categories in Adsmanager, but when the list of ads shows, the images for each category are too large. How can I reduce the size? In Configuration, i've changed both the Max Category Image Height (and Width) and the Max Category Thumbnail Height (and Width) to 10, but this makes no difference. So what do these settings actually do?
