Joomla! 1.0.11 addressed a number of important security issues particularly those involving global registers. If you followed all of the installation instructions and have no security warnings displayed in your administration pages, you have turned global registers to off.

Some extensions are not fully functional with gobal registers off.  Patches or new releases addressing this issue are available for many, but not all, extensions.

The security forum is usually the best place to learn about security threats involving extensions.
