Post by RR321 » Sun Jul 06, 2008 12:42 am

How can I configure contact feedback form to send to multiple email addresses?

The two approaches I have taken:

1. Make your own contact us form with a forms utility such as Phil-a-Form (many of them let you easily send the form to multiple addresses.)

2. Fix the email box up to auto forward to additional addresses.

Both approaches have worked for me - and I'm sure there are other ways as well.

I'm looking for more information on #2... Can you give information on how I might make this happen? Do I look in the Com_Contacts file to change the info?

2. Fix the email box up to auto forward to additional addresses.

Thanks,
Tim

just use rsform and create custom form and it can send to multiple email addresses at once.

Joomla 1.5 hack:

'components/com_contact/controller.php'

line 192

REPLACE this line:

Code: Select all

$mail->addRecipient( $contact->email_to );
with:

Code: Select all

for ($z=0;$z<count(explode(';', $contact->email_to));$z++) {
	$mail->addRecipient( $emails[$z] );
}
then you can simply enter e-mailaddresses seperated by a ; in your contact's information (back-end Joomla 1.5)

Same goes for Joomla 1.6 (and supposedly 1.7).

Only this time the file;

'components/com_contact/controllers/contact.php'

line 146

Little tweak:

Code: Select all

$emails = explode(';', $contact->email_to);
for ($z=0;$z<count($emails);$z++) {
	$mail->addRecipient( $emails[$z] );
}

Hi there,
I replaced, in Joomla 1.7, the line 147 with the above suggested lines.
Unfortunately, the input control in back-end don't permits to store two email addresses (regularly) separated by semicolon ";"
In fact the typed addresses becomes red, and it results impossible to store. :'(

Any ideas ???

Many thanks in advance :D

This may sound like a really dumb question, but...

Where do I find "components/com_contact/controllers/contact.php" so that I can edit it?

I'm new to all this...

Thanks

I changed it from phpMyAdmin. ;-)
