mod_rewrite issue

Post by jeyganeshm » Mon Apr 28, 2014 6:42 am

If we change htaccess.txt to .htacces in our server it will getting following error.

500 Internal server error

We contacted our hosting server support team. They told this is purely joomla issue.

How to check mod_rewrite working status in our server?

Have you followed some instructions, for example: http://www.siteground.com/tutorials/joo ... ef_url.htm

Before you go much further, the Joomla version of your site is extremely old and insecure. You should consider migrating urgently to a supported version.

Wrong forum.

Then the instructions are here: http://docs.joomla.org/Enabling_Search_ ... (SEF)_URLs

If you have access to the PHP error log, it will have a detailed error message which has the error code, a message and in which script the error occured, causing internal server error 500 to be reported.
