Sectional Templates Thought

This is more a feature request than anything. I know that requests are completely limited but I feel that there is one small area that is overlooked in the template area. The ability to assign a templates to a section. With larger sites this feature would completely reduce time clicking and assigning templates to content. When designing large sites usually you design based on section look and feel more than trying to design per page. I have spent endless hours assigning templates to one section and always wished there should be an easier way.
