[solved] migration path 1.0.12 to latest 2.5
Hi everyone
I am at last upgrading my Joomla site to the latest LTR.
Currently i am running on version 1.0.12
Ok so you can pick yourself up off the floor and stop laughing
Am i correct that the migration path is
1.0.12 -> 1.0.15
1.0.15 -> 1.5 Stable
if necessary 1.5 stable -> 1.5.26
1.5.26 -> 2.5.8
If so
a) I have the upgrade code for 1.0.12 to 1.0.15
b)i have the migrator to get me from 1.0.15 to 1.5 Stable (not sure which version of 1.5 it will take me to - can anyone advise as the migation notes doesnt specify?
c) I also have the details of how to migrate from 1.5 to 2.5
I will manage 3rd party components etc as i go. Is there anything else that i need?
Thanks
Dave

[solved] migration path 1.0.12 to latest 2.5
This is what i did and all seems to have worked ok. I only had to have one version of 1.5 to get from 1.0 to 2.5.
The only problem i had was with jupgrade from 1.5 to 2.5 which didnt work initially. I had to install Joomla2.5 myself and configure jupgrade to skip the download and decompress steps and it worked second time.

What about the Migration Assistant from 1.0 to 1.5? Does anyone have that? There was a download in the other thread but the file didn't work. Any help would be much appreciated, updating from 1.0 to the newest here as well...

Does anyone know how to upgrade just the database part from joomla 1.0.x to 3.1.x ?
I have created a new site, put was hoping to write some sql to insert my old content. does anyone know of a mapping script, or schema information to aid this process?
thanks

Re: migration path 1.0.12 to latest 2.5
I am about to upgrade my website as well. I inherited this website from someone who had been running it and not doing anything to it for a few years. It currently runs 1.0 (not sure what version?). We are having problems and I would like to upgrade. I am not terribly familiar with Joomla and am fairly a novice at this.
The site was too large for an auto back up. I did a manual back up of Mysql and public_html. Now, I think I am ready?
The host offers an auto update for Joomla. I wondered about just clicking on that? Would the auto update take me through the correct series of updates to get me to the updated version without issue? We are using Siteground. Has anyone worked with them? Does anyone know about auto updates for Joomla?
Thank you for your help
