More feminine apparel and patches?

Post by Flavia Silveira » Tue Jun 01, 2010 1:42 pm

Hi Wendy,

Is it possible to get more feminine apparel and patches made for the store?
I know the number of men in the project is much bigger than women but I thought it would be nice to offer more than just the women's fitted shirts and hoodie. How about skirts? Swimsuits? Beads?
The patches would be another good option because they can be applied to anything.
Make it in 2 sizes and you can cover a broad list of items that can be customized with the logo.
Cups?

I would love to buy a patch I could apply to shorts, etc.

Just rambling :)

Hi Flavia,

I would love to see more items in the shop tailored for women. In fact I was a loud supporter of getting womens' tshirts into the shop long before I was managing it.

The problem is that since our shop buys and sells inventory, we risk getting stuck with items that nobody buys. This has been a problem with the womens' items we have already. For some reason the ladies are not buying like the men are, and it could well be because it is a smaller demographic in the community. Or possibly that women don't just want a "ladies' version" of a mens' item and that we need some more original pieces. Not sure. But then we get into the same situation with overstock.

What I would like to see the shop do in the future is look into some Print On Demand options, so to offer more variety in items without having to sit on old stock.

I am only serving as a liason for the shop right now as I have put it into OSM's capable hands to find a new team to manage it. I know that Ryan is working on organizing that. Would the shop be something you are interested in helping with? It would be great to have your design skills and enthusiasm on the team :). If it interests you, let me know or let Ryan know.

Definitely :)
I would love to be able to buy more items specifically geared for women and we all know that although there are not as many women as men involved with the project we are not *that* few that can be somewhat ignored.
I can tell you I love my new 1.6 shirts. Would love to have capris that could go with them :)
Did you see the pictures on my FB??

I am getting a little overwhelmed but I am sure I can take time to give input and help a little :)

Cheers,

LOL! I can't stay away from flanel PJs even in the summer. Shirts are solely for day wearing for me so the models available now for women are fine :)
Will be wearing my new one to the JUGT meeting on Wednesday.

I'm fine with having a ladies version of the mens shirts, I'm just generally more of a fan of fitted shirts. I didn't even really think, "Hey, I should go get some Joomla merch!" until now. I like babydoll or women-style cuts of shirts with larger graphics on them. The cut of the "women's shirt" looks great online so I think I'll order it. Perhaps both men and women would appreciate one with a larger Joomla logo on it?
