[Corrected] Under Site > User Manager > Edit User Page - Not Authorized...

Post by TheSaint » Mon Oct 30, 2006 9:18 am

Under Site > User Manager > Edit User Page

If you click on help it gives you following information:
User Manager  Print

-- Draft Version

This page shows a list of the Users registered for your site.  You can add or edit Users here.

Filter: Filters allow you to reduce the number of records shown by only selecting those that meet certain conditions. You can filter by entering a keyword (name or username), selecting a user group, or based on logon status. You may use mutliple conditions of filters such as a keyword and group.
Toolbar:
"Select" users by clicking the checkbox at the start of each row.

New: Click the 'New' icon to create a new User.

Edit: Click the 'Edit' icon to edit a User's information.

Help Screen: User Manager: Add/Edit Users

Delete: Click the 'Delete' icon to delete the user from the database. You can delete more than one user at a time.

Force Logout: Click the 'Force Logout' icon to log a user out.

Columns:
Name: This is the real or display name of user. Click the name to edit the User's information. A padlock icon next to it shows that it is checked-out. To check-in, click the name to edit.

Logged In: This shows whether the user is logged in or not.

Enabled: This shows whether the user is allowed to log in to the site. Click the icon to toggle the state of the user.

User ID: This is the login name of the user.

Group: This is the group that the user is associated with.

Email: This is the User's e-mail address.

Last Visit: This is the date and time that the user last visited a page on the site while logged in.
The part that says Help Screen: User Manager: Add/Edit Users (highlighted in bold) points to this help page:

http://help.joomla.org/index.php?option ... iew&id=296

Which then tells users that....
You are not authorized to view this resource.
You need to login.
http://help.joomla.org/index.php?option ... iew&id=296

Also of minor note, there is a misspelling of the word "multiple" in the top paragraph (highlighted in bold).  :-*

Thanks for all your fine work! :)

Thanks Paul!

Would you be interested in helping out (without a committment for time) on the Workshop site to help write/rewrite/edit the Help Screens for 1.5?

Sure thing Michelle! I've registered with the site per your suggestion. Is there anything in particular that needs attention?

Paul,

Thanks for your offer!  You should now have access to edit any of the Help Screens.  Right now, we are focusing on the Site and Menus Help Screens.  You'll see them on the left menu of the Workshop site.

The most important thing, is to submit a backup of the Help Screen that you have already edited.  That way I'll have a record of everyone's contributions.

We are having skype conferences for anyone who is able to attend.  The next one is Thursday at 7:30pm (-6GMT) Just check this forum for times and dates on a regular bases.  You can stil publish your questions in the doc forum.
