Back-end: "Select All" - general concepts

Hi,
there has been a request to add some words about the "Select all" checkbox found in the table views. Apparently it's not that obvious that this feature exists:

I'm not sure if there is or will be a chapter such as "General concepts in the Back-end", that summarizes all the common GUI elements and their standard behavior, i.e changing sort order, no. of items in the tables, navigation buttons, using filters etc.
How to "Select all" items in a table should probably be part of it.
