weird weird weird...my modules appear on all pages

Hello,
I have set some module positions and want them to appear in the front only, i edited the modules and have hosen "home" in the right side. In the module manager, it indicate me "varies", which mean the settings is done correctly. However, when i click from the front page, i got the same modules displayed in the article page.
Can anyone help me to solve that ?

i am using shs404 sef perhaps it is because of it

No... It is happening to me also... I am not using any SEF... Infact I use the user "unfriendly" URLs only... Still the frontpage modules appear in all the pages
