Google Map Plugin

Post by mlabello » Sat Oct 29, 2011 4:33 pm

I have this google map developed in "my maps" http://g.co/maps/mdt4e. As you will see it has markers and route lines. I want to embed it in my Joomla site in an article.

I have downloaded the plugin but can't figure what is supposed to go inbetween the code. The map comes with two versions of code as sullpied in google maps.
a URL: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=202 ... 9c1f&msa=0

and an iframe: <iframe width="425" height="350" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?mpa=0&ct ... iframe><br /><small>View <a href="http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?mpa=0&ct ... urce=embed" style="color:#0000FF;text-align:left">Gloversville City Run</a> in a larger map</small>

neither seem to work in the sample mosmap provied in the plugin: {mosmap width='500'|height='400'|lat='52.052312'|lon='4.447141'|
zoom='3'|zoomType='Large'|zoomNew='0'|mapType='Satellite'|showMaptype='1'|
overview='0'|text='sv DWO'|tooltip='DWO'|marker='1'|
align='center'}

Can anyone tell me how to make this map show up on my site?

Perhaps use http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... /maps/8590 they can use the .kml file from Google. And when you create the map it gives you the code to put in the Article.

You can see it in action at http://www.tridentsmartrepairs.co.uk/car-body-repair this only displays the radius of an area. However it will display all the overlays from your kml file.

There is excellent documentation for the extension. You may find it easier for you to use.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

OK I reinstalled it and it works, now the next problem is when I put the code in an article the map doesn't show up, just the code text. It should be a simple copy and paste into the article editor right?

I do get this at the bottom of the control panel under map "Not yet supported in Internet Explorer browsers" that have anything to do with it?

Extensions >> Plugin manager ... Phoca plugin enable
(If you order the ID column Descending then the last plugin installed will be at the top).

I didn't install a phoca plugin, it was a component. Is there a pluging that was supposed to install as well, I do not have one in my plugin manager.
