501 Method Not Implemented in response to (MKCOL)

Post by dr_drsh » Sat Mar 07, 2009 3:14 pm

Hi,

I'm getting this error when committing code to my JoomlaCode.org Project

Code: Select all

Commit failed (details follow):
Server sent unexpected return value (501 Method Not Implemented) in response to
MKCOL request for '/svn/jforms/!svn/wrk/e1350b4a-6baf-3f46-8842-9e78b577e375/branches/0.6/administrator/components/com_jforms/helper/plugins'
TortoiseSVN has no problems committing modified files, but when it attempt to create a directory it fails with the mentioned error.

I'm using TortoiseSVN.

Did you manage to resolve this?

I'm experiencing a similar problem, which is particuarly odd since it was all working until recently.

I've tried updating Tortoise, I;ve tried using the Collabnet comamnd line client, and I;ve evn tried pulling down a completely new working copy - all withou success :(

Transmitting file data .svn: Commit failed (details follow):
svn: Server sent unexpected return value (501 Method Not Implemented) in response to PUT request for '/svn/wats/!svn/wrk/b0ab1c78-64c2-9949-a8b5-ca23ed682709/releases/2.0/trunk/administrator/components/com_waticketsystem/admin.waticketsystem.php'

Ah - sorted it!

That's crazy - seems there was some autrhenticatuion caching going on somewhere... very strange because I never get tortoise to save my credentials, and because it was prompting for credentials correctly. Even more strange that it would affect the command line client where you explicitly provide the username on the command line. Ah well, best not to reason why ;)

see http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=166835 for more info on how to clear the cache.
